Hmmm... Second post.
I like this blog.
Can post more frequently.
And my post can be like one sentence long.
Hahaha...

Anyway, I AM REALLY REALLY PISSED OFF.

Sabbaticals. My first choice was Eastern Europe. Second was the Japan Lang Arts trip. Okay, So I knew that the Japan trip was an SBC trip. I only found out that Eastern Europe was an SBC trip after Mr. Seow told Hilary and me AFTER had posted the options.
So, basically the 2 BEST trips are for the fucking sbc girls. But since enough of them didn't sign up for these trips they opened it up to the "peasants." Yep, us. The dumb morons who don't take philosophy and Individualised Study Options and therefore apparently lack brains according to the MG authorities.

So, while presenting their trips, Janet Ng, (in charge of Eastern Europe trip) said that priority would NOT be given to the girls taking full history, as Eastern Europe is largely History based. Keep in mind that they never mentioned that Eastern Europe was an SBC trip.

They gave SBC girls priority, but not Full History girls??
SO BASICALLY THOSE ASSHOLES HAVE MORE PRIORITY THAN PEOPLES' SUBJECT OPTIONS? HUH? LIKE WTF IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN RIGHT??

wtf. Really wtf man.

So, there are about 38 girls who got neither their first nor second choice. I was one of them. So was Xianwen, Cheryl S, April, Giselle T, Amanda Ongko and her friend Joann, Gwenisha, Hui Ting, just to name a few. FYI, NOT A SINGLE SBC GIRL WAS ON THAT LIST of people who didn't get in.

Look, we pay the same school fees, we'll be taking the same O Level papers, why are they given SO MUCH priority? Okay, fine they are smarter, more creative and all that, but we're all 14 or 15 year-olds. We were ALL looking forward to going somewhere for the sabbaticals. We were ALL really excited about this trip. I mean, what, you think they were more eager to go on trips or something? Larger brains = More emotion? I THINK NOT.
And speaking of larger brains, you think they're topping the cohort in everything? Nope. 3I has done better than them in stuff. 3O too. Once in a while, 3E. There's this loser scholar in 3G, an SBC class, who keeps on sleeping I'm sure she's not the only one who doesnt have a great attitude.

Anyway, what other options are left? The Eastern Europe trip, BOTH Japan trips, and New Delhi are totally full.
There's Chennai, but I've been to India over 30 times. No kidding.
I DO NOT wanna go to China. Everyone'll be speaking in Chinese, and i'll be totally left out. Ithink that lets say we're in france, and everyone's speaking french, but we ALL dont understand, then fine. But i dun wanna be the only left out.
Then, there's the Adventure cammp thing. Like wow. I am SO into dangling from ropes and getting bitten by leeches. Apparenly only 4 girls from the whole 293-strong Sec3 cohort opted for this.
Australia doesn't sound bad. But there are only 6 places left. And I've gone there so many times when I was young, I'm sick of it.
Job attachments? Not interested.

So, what's left? A self-designed sabbatical.
These are for the girls who're going for a holiday somewhere anyway with their family, and want to incorporate the things they do there into the sabbaticals. But they never stated that we have to go WITH OUR FAMILIES.

Project UK, FRANCE and Krakow

So, why not plan our own sabbatical and go together? Is there anything wrong with that? If Xianwen, Cheryl S, April, Giselle T, Amanda Ongko, Joann, Gwenisha and Hui Ting were my sisters, we wouldnt be stopped.

So ytd Me, Su-lyn, Heidi, Xianwen, Gwenisha, etc, planned out a rough outline of the sabbatical. April and Sotong helped too.
We just collected information on various countries, and I put it all together..

UK (4 Days)
France (4 Days)
Venice (2 Days) OR Rome(4 Days) OR Krakow in Poland (2 Days)

We finally settled for UK, France and Krakow. Cuz Venice is quite biring yet expensive, Rome was all history-stuff, and we were seeing enough museums in France. Krakow had Auswhwitz, and stuff.
Yep. Aren't the Eastern Europe trip girls going for Aushwitz too? They are. Who said we can't? We're not going there because we want to prove anything. We want to go to Aushwitz too. Its just that those fuckin sbc girls were given a priority.

So, thats that. There were 10 of us "trip-less" who wanted to go for this self-designed trip.

Me
Xianwen
Justina

Gwenisha
April
Giselle
Amanda O.
Joann

AND then, hearing this, people from our classes who hadn't been rejected wanted to join too. As in, some wanna come absolutely, and some say that if they dont get their first choice, they'll join us.

Su-lyn
Heidi
Ding
Xing Yi
Hilary
Yuxi
Nat
Tricia
Amanda S.
Meera
Marisa

Yup, so altogether 21 people wanna go. That's quite a bit. But most trips have abt 30 people, so 20 is not alot, you know?

Anyway, I just really really really hope we can make it. :)
We're probably getting interviewed by Mrs. Sim tomorrow, so i hope she aproves it!

<3

I know you won’t let me
But just turn and walk away
You'll tie me up, kick me around
Trying to kill my dreams and break me down
But I won’t hang around

I’m running away from this messed up place
I’m breaking free, yeah yeah

I’m tired of staring at the sun
Can’t stand the way you burn my eyes so I can’t see
Stealing every breath I breathe
You push me into overdrive
And I don’t need this kind of high coz now I’m done
You took everything while I was staring at the sun.

I'm NOT emo. This song is just stuck in my head.

Dear Me,

New Blog!

Its not that I don't like my other blog, seriously. But I can't like post a little phrase I cam across, or a poem I liked, cuz Amrit says the other blog is "already dying." The number of daily hits has increased though.
-____-

Anyway, I was reading Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult its damn nice! My Sister's Keeper was better, but this one's a close second. :D

Some stuff from there:

"What other words, we may almost ask, are memorable and worthy to be repeated than those which love has inspired? It is wonderful that they were every uttered. They are few and rare indeed, but, like a strain of music, they are incessantly repeated and modulated by memory. All other words crumble off with the stucco which overlies the heart. We should not dare to repeat these now aloud. We are not competent to hear them at all times." - Henry David Thomas

"I think it is a matter of love: the more you love a memory, the stronger and stranger it is." - Vladimir Nabokov

A nice quote but wasn't Nabokov the writer who wrote "Lolita"? Err.. keeping that it mind you wonder what context the quote has been written in.

Went to the library on Friday.. I know.. NERD right? Borrowed this FABULOUS book on Da Vinci's life and artwork. Borrowed another one on acrylic painting techniques.

I don't know. I'm trying surrealism cuz it seems fun, and I've already started painting part of it, but my mom's reaction was like Can you tell me something? What's this supposed to mean?" I don't know.

I would have known, perhaps, if I had taken Art instead of Full Lit. Amrit keeps on screeching "I TOLD YOU SO!!" over the phone.
Even Deanna regrets not taking art. I am totally SUCKING at Lit. B4 FOR CA2! Not only that, I missed B3 by 0.1 mark. -_____-
Sigh, its so ironic that since I wanna become an artist/ fashion designer, i should have paid attention to home econs and art in lower sec. But those were the ones i just didn't give a damn about, until it was too late.

Seriously, Lit was so interesting last year. This year we're doing some dumbassed book called Fahrenehit 451. Montag can go screw himself for all I care.
I mean, the book's not that bad, but Ms. ____ keeps on making biblical allusions, and I just. don't. understand. because I'm not christian and I haven't really read the bible.

Example: "Montag says that he wants to start from the beginning. This is a biblical allusion, because the bible is all about a new beginning and rebirth of faith and..."
Err, I'm sorry but aren't almost all religions about a new beginning? I don't get it.

Another example: This happened in during Values Ed, where some weird woman came to talk to us about leadership. "Good leaders stand up for what is right, no matter what others say. For example, Jesus never wavered in the face of his enemies. He did not have an army, but he conquered the world. Not only Christianity. I .err... i.. *think* that other religions like... um, Hinduism, Buddhism.. I think they also pray to God."
Yeah, thats why they're called religions, woman.

I'm not slandering people or their beliefs. I have great friends, classmates, teachers who are very sensitive when it comes to topics like these, simply because there are quite a few non-christian girls in MGS. But there are those who totally lack this sensitivity, who are totally convinced that what they believe is the truth and that the rest of the world is blinded/ on a one-way road to hell/ worshipping Satan, etc.

Wow, rambled alot huh?

I shall go now.
